Laclarée, a Villeurbanne, France-based provider of an autofocusing eyeglasses, raised €3.5M in Seed funding.
Backers included Rimonci, UI-Investissement (former Kreaxi, France), High-Tech GründerFonds, and angels. The €3.5M will complement EIC accelerator (Europe)’s €2.5M financing.
The company intends to use the funds to develop its first commercial product by mid-2026.
Founded by Bruno Berge, Laclarée is developing autofocusing eyeglasses for the millions of people affected by presbyopia, based on an opto-fluidic technology protected by its patented worldwide portfolio. The eyeglasses feature variable focus lenses driven by actuating units in each temple and distance sensors. With the combination of those three bricks, the optical correction of the eyeglasses is real-time adapted to the distance between the user and the object he or she is looking at. Its lenses also include the necessary refractive corrections, hyperopia, astigmatism, and myopia, according to the patient prescription.
