fal, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of an infrastructure platform for AI-driven media creation, raised $49M in Series B funding.
The round, which brought the total amount to $72M, was led by Notable Capital and Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), with participation from Bessemer Venture Partners, Kindred Ventures, and First Round Capital. As part of this round, Jennifer Li (a16z) and Glenn Solomon (Notable) will join fal’s Board of Directors.
The company intends to use the funds for:
- Infrastructure Expansion: scaling global cloud capacity to meet enterprise demand for AI video, transitioning from thousands of Hopper GPUs to tens of thousands of Blackwell GPUs.
- Model Marketplace and Ecosystem: introducing new community-driven features and model endpoints, including Whisper, Flux, and Stable Diffusion benchmarks.
- Team expansion.
Founded by Burkay Gur and Gorkem Yurtseven, fal provides a platform for generative media, offering inference solutions for AI-powered video, image, and audio applications. The company partners with enterprises, research labs, and developers worldwide to accelerate the AI-driven content creation.
