OpenGov, a San Francisco, CA-based AI-enabled software provider for local and state governments, acquired Ignatius, a Newport, RI-based provider of a dynamic low-code platform.

The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

With the acquisition, OpenGov will accelerate its support of public administrators tackling complex initiatives with configurable software.

Founded by Mark Della Volpe, Ignatius provides state and local agencies with solutions for grants management, disaster preparedness and recovery, infrastructure banking and loan compliance, scholarship tracking, broadband funding, and other federal and state program administration. Mark Della Volpe, founder of Ignatius, will lead the advancement of this product line, and Graeme Ownjazayeri, COO of Ignatius, will oversee its solution architecture, partner network, and customer success.

Led by CEO Zac Bookman, OpenGov provides an AI-enabled software for cities, counties, state agencies, and special districts. It serves more than 2,000 communities across the United States. It is built exclusively for the asset management, permitting and licensing, procurement, tax and revenue, budgeting and planning, and financial management needs of the public sector. The platform empowers organizations to operate more efficiently, adapt to change, and strengthen trust in the communities they serve.
