Enduro Genetics, a Copenhagen, Denmark-based synthetic biology startup, raised €12M in Series A funding.
Backers included Supernova Invest, NOON Ventures and Sandwater.
The company intends to use the funds to expand its platform and scale commercialization.
Founded by Peter Rugbjerg and led by CEO Christian Munch, Enduro provides patented “synthetic addiction” technology that integrates a genetic plug-in into the microbial production host, coupling each cell’s productivity to its health and growth. This ensures that only high-producing cells can survive and thrive, effectively eliminating non-productive cells from the population. By maintaining a stable and productive microbial community, Enduro Sense improves industrial biomanufacturing, enabling consistent, scalable, and cost-efficient production.
The company was spun out of the Technical University of Denmark.
