Clean Core Thorium Energy (CCTE), a Chicago, IL-based nuclear fuel company, raised $15.5M in Seed funding.

The round was led by a Singapore-based family office and leaders including Sumant Sinha, CEO and Founder of ReNew, Lakshmi Narayanan, former CEO of Cognizant Technologies, and Deepak Parekh, former Chairman of HDFC Bank.

The company intends to use the funds to advance the ANEEL fuel, a patented blend of thorium & HALEU designed to be deployed into existing reactors.

Led by CEO and Founder Mehul Shah, Clean Core Thorium Energy is a nuclear fuel company exploring thorium-driven nuclear innovations. Its patented nuclear fuel technology (called the ANEEL™ fuel) is comprised of thorium and high assay low-enriched uranium (HALEU) and is capable of improving the safety and cost-efficiency of pressurized heavy-water reactors.
